laser working abit!

i’ve been getting laser since April ( i purchased a 8 treatment package for $1500)on my armpits and lower part of my stomach, the truth is the first 4 treatment did absloutly nothing for me… but i’m actually experincing abit of shedding after my 5th treatment which was last thursday… i dont know , but i’ve been waiting for this since my very first lasr treatment, anyway i just thought i should share this…because for a long time i thought laser doesn’t work for me, but i guess it just takes many treatments, and lots of patient. and i dont think i’ll ever be 100% hair free ( which was my goal at first), but now i will be happy with 70% hair reduction… please let me know about your experience with laser… <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Using laser you will NEVER be hair free.

you should have shed after each and every treatment. basically you paid for nothing the first 4 times. i’d see if you can get your money back.

The average rate in California for electrolysis: $60

Number of hours you would have received for the same money with no discounts: 25

Number of hairs you could have had permanently removed 2,500 to 15,000 depending on the practitioner and mode utilized.

I think it is safe to say that your underarms could be finished in those parameters. You might have received a good majority of the tummy hairs in that as well.

noone asked the most important questions. without knowing what your skin and hair type is, laser used, settings used etc, noone here can tell you whether you were getting effective treatments in the first place. laser works great for most people with light skin and dark coarse hair (underarms you’re describing are one of the easiest to treat). if you have this, you most likely weren’t getting effective treatments. if you can get more info, we can help you figure out what’s going on. if you don’t, i guess you can just assume it doesn’t work like all the bitter people like hairybastard do.

the laser that i’ve been treated by is laserscope, gemini. I do have dark, and thick hair on my body…and my skin is olive, however i’m pretty pale/yellow on my stomach and legs since thoese body parts haven’t, and probably will never see any sun, I hope that’s enough information …
oh and another question is I don’t know anything about the setting? i mean what should i ask the nurse, i keep telling her to go higher on the setting, and last time she said she went all the way to 6. but what is the wavelength, pulse, and jules what are those all about! i need answers please HELLLLLLLLLPP! now i feel like i wasted my money, since i worked really hard for that $1500 and i’m still working hard for it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

Get them to give you a copy of your treatment page/file. It should have all the joules-pulsewidth etc on there and consult this site as to whether the settings were appropriate or not.

yes, I’ve noticed a big difference ( definately not hair free) on my armpits, but notthing on my stomach.

are you male or female? this is a Yag laser and best on the very coarse hair. it has trouble with finer hair. is you’re female, your stomach hair is probably too fine for it. I had avg success on the abdomen with the most powerful laser out there (40-50% compared to 95% on other areas), so I wouldn’t have high expectations from this laser on finer hair.
