Laser Went Above Hairline, Will It Fill In?

I had two treatments done on the back of my neck, but I guess I wasn’t very clear with the technician and it doesn’t look very even now. I think she included hair above my hairline. I wish I hadn’t had this done. I had two treatments with the GentleYAG spaced four weeks apart. Can I expect the hair to fill in? I’m a 29 year old male.

This is a" wait and see" situation, I believe. When was your last LHR treatment?

About 3.5 weeks ago. I suppose it’s starting to look a bit better, but this has really had the opposite effect on me than I was hoping for. I feel far more self-conscious. In a way, it could end up being a good experience if my hair ends up looking normal.

If you are already seeing some improvement here, this is an excellent indication. Full regrowth from LHR can take many months,so don’t worry yet. You have at least 5 more months of waiting, and each month it will be a bit better. Unfortunately no one can answer your question with total accuracy.

If the settings were low, yes.

If the settings weren’t low, you’ll have hair from the next two cycles which should make the hair look more even.

Thanks, mumbaigirl. I don’t know the settings, but do you know the approximate length of the hair cycle for the back of the neck?

No, sorry.

Okay, I think this was a false alarm. I found a picture of myself on Facebook w a lot of neck hair and realized my hairline just looks weird in general. What I had been reacting to was seeing my neck without the neck hair, something I hadn’t really experienced before.

I think clinics should strongly encourage people to do before/after photos because it’s very easy to forget what you looked like.

Oops! Hehe

Why don’t you maintain a diary with pictures and settings here? It’ll help a lot of people. Just a suggestion.
