I have had a problem with the hair on one side of my neck while shaving becuase it always gets razor burn and wanted to know whether electrolysis or laser would be the best way to deal with it. I am of mediterrainean decsent with very dark hair and fairly light skin. I have already had 3 electrolysis sessions done on my neck which has helped alot in making shaving easier but becuase I am in school I have not gone in for anymore sessions until christmas break when I will have more time and wont have to worry about showing up to school with redness and bumps all over my neck.
are you male? laser might be an option if you just want a reduction, but it would be very important to find an experienced professional with a Yag laser for you (safer and also less irritation) who will make sure to overlap and not miss areas.
If you get your first clearance with electrolysis over the holiday break, you won’t have to worry about being not ready for public viewing during your subsequent appointments when school starts back up.

My christmas break is only 3 weeks long so I am going to try going in twice a week for a total of six sessions to get cleared up. I dont know if these are enough sessions to get me cleared up but they will certainly help in making my shaving easier. I dont think I will go in for appointments when school starts because my neck will still look a little damaged and shaded from my sessions over break and I need to give it time to heal which takes a couple months.
The condition of your skin and healing time all depends on your practitioner’s skills, equipment, and your pre- and post-treament skin care. It should also be noted that the first clearance is the worst for irritation, later treatments will be less irritating, as there will be fewer hairs per square centimeter, and as time goes by, the treatment energy can be lowered as well.
