From what I have read on this board, it seems that sometimes Laser induces hair growth…I had heard it wasn’t permanent, but I had never heard before that it can induce further growth…after having it done on my face many years ago and seeing things get worse over the years, I believe it…
My question is - does laser induce growth ALL over the body, or are just certain areas susceptible…I am debating whether or not to do laser or electrolysis on my bikini…I would like to do a more intimate bikini hair removal (more along the lines of a Brazilian); however, I really don’t think I want want to do electrolysis there, nor do I think my practitioner would do it (or I would want her to do it - relationships change after someone is poking around in your privates! ;))…
Does laser induce growth there? Should I do electrolysis on my basic bikini line and laser on the rest? Should I do laser all over, then clean up with electrolysis? Suggestions/input would be greatly appreciated!
Electrologists will do hair removal in the areas they are comfortable working on. That comfort range might be physically or otherwise uncomfortable…this might be an area that they can’t physically work on, or they might just not like to do specific areas. Other electrologists will consider all areas to be skin with hair, and all hair can be removed. As for “poking around in your privates” again, it boils down to skin with hair, and all hair can be removed.
Regarding laser, if all conditions are right, cleaning up with electrolysis makes sense.
Laser induces growth on fine hair and on areas with little or no hair. If you’re only treating the bikini area with actual coarse dense growth that most people have, there is no chance of induced growth. Laser is great for this area.
You don’t need to wait to start electrolysis after laser, but I’d recommend waiting about 6 months so you can judge better exactly what’s left after laser.
