Laser test patch?

I’m a guy looking to have hair removed from my upper back/shoulders area. I had four laser treatments a few years ago, and I’d like to finish the job. My hair there was originally very course, and while it’s thinner now, I’m not sure the last two treatments really did anything.

So before I commit to the time, money, and pain, I’d like to have some better idea of whether it works. I’m wondering: Do you think a laser practitioner would agree to a sequence of treatments on a small test patch on that area, perhaps a few square inches, for a relatively low cost? The way I figure, the only way I would wind up with a bald spot is if the treatment works, in which case I get the whole area done anyway. Has anyone done this or asked about it?

If it works, I might get my chest, stomach and arms done as well, later.

Any reputable practitioner should (key word “should”) do a free spot test for whatever reason. Ask. If they won’t, after you explain your concerns, then look around until you find someone who will. This is an unknown business, and I think its perfectly reasonable to wait until you find someone who you have a good rapport with.

If the hair is thinner, I would go with a high power long pulse diode laser like the Lightsheer.
