I saw my doctor and she recommended a laser technician in her off for reddness and hair removal. The laser technician talked to me and talked me into seeing her in another satelite office where the doctor wouldn’t know about it. Stupidily when I saw the laser tech, she said I should make the check out to her because the doctor should not get half. I wrote out two checks to her personally not the clinic and saw her twice. I called the doctor and she wanted the proof I wrote the checks to the laser tech and not her. She said she would refund my money. It’s been two weeks and I called the doctor again and she said she misunderstood and thought I would come in for the treatment!!! I said you think I"m going to let that woman touch my face. The laser tech said they had Fraxel at the satelite office but I never received Fraxel!! The doctor said they only have Fraxel at her office, First visit it stung a bit and the next week she saw me and gave me a facial. I’m total stressed out over this and will file a complaint with Consumer Protection Agency. Anyone ever have this happen at a doctors office? I received two treatments since March and everytime I call the lazer tech she said she is too busy and than when I finally make an appt. with her she does not show up at the satellite clinic.
Time to get an attorney
Whoa, slow down a bit. You wanted laser hair reduction on your face? A laser tech works in a doctor’s office and the doctor owns what kind of laser at a satillite office? The tech was ripping the doctor off? What is the name of the laser and can you describe your facial hair situation? Color of hair? Color of skin? Thick or thin hair? How much hair?
Was the doctor upset with the tech? Where are you located?
Yes, it’s not clear what happened exactly and what you’re asking about.
In general, you should always get a receipt. You can also request the copies of your checks from your bank. Paying via credit card can help as well since they resolve issues on your behalf.
If you’re going to continue with hair removal, make sure to read the FAQs here first. You may not be a good candidate for laser, especially with that machine which is not that great. To get results on your face, you need to have coarse dense dark hair.
It sounds like they were more concerned about raking in the money than her request for hair removal, with such an inferior laser and accounting set up. Shifty is the word that comes to my mind, but there is always the other side to a the story. It is not a good idea to infuriate someone that trustingly turns over their money for a service that they are not happy about.
Talk it out as best you can, state your gripes and intentions and see where everything lands. It is painful and expensive to get lawyers involved.
A lawyer may not be necessary. For this amount, they can go to small claims court on their own if they have to. But before doing that, it pays to lay out the facts and evidence.
