laser question- profession

hello everybody. i have a question about laser hair removal. first off i have a job where i work with food and i can only wear short sleeved clothing. i want to get laser on pretty my shoulders downwards so arms, hands, forearms and fingers etc. But i hear people always complain about ‘pepperspots’? Is this preventable? Maybe if I shaved completely smove the same day as treatment will there be none of this?
and i also worry about the shedding thing. what do you guys think, can i even work during shedding because i dont want hair to be falling out at those moments lol.

one more thing. how many days does it take for swelling and redness go away after treatment?
thanks in advance.

You cannot do anything about pepperspots, they will or won’t come in as they will. The good news is that the shedding that takes place won’t have hairs falling out and into food while you are working, but rather coming off in the shower as your rubbing exfoliates the skin.

I would also want to remind you that stimulation of increased hair growth is a possibility on the upper arms.

Swelling and redness usually go away within hours.
Mine look normal after about an hour, but I think I’ve read it can last up to 24 hours.

Yes the thing is because these areas are always very exposed so that’s why I’m concerned on my skin noticing too much.
On the pepperspots, I’ve had treatment before and I noticed that they are more apparent when the hair isn’t shaved short enough. Or do we really have no control over this?

You can’t predict pepperspots. It varies by person. You may get them on some parts and not others. It will just look like you shaved, i.e. dark dots.

Do you have dark coarse growth on all these areas? Is it dense? Most people don’t and I would urge you to do research here on stimulated growth, i.e. you can get MORE hair than you started with if you treat hair that’s not coarse and dense.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I believe my hair is dense enough.

I guess I’m good to go. The best thing I can do is get a treatment and sometimes because of my schedule i do not work for 5 days or so. So by that time my skin must look ok again for sure. I read about all of the side effects.
