Laser or Electrolysis?

Hi,

I’ve been getting electrolysis done for over 4 months now, they seem to be coming in less, and I don’t have any problems afterwards!

What I’m wondering about is… What should I use on other areas? I’d like to get my forearms done (fine, not coarse, black hair which I have never attempted to remove), my underarms, bikini line and maybe even my legs.

I’m just not sure whether I should try electrolysis which would be time consuming but I know what to expect and they did say they could do it, or go with laser which would cost more and the results may not be as permanent however easier to do on bigger areas. Plus, which laser should I be using if I wanted to go that route?

Thanks guys and sorry if this has been asked before…

Laser is just as permanent. It’s all about treating the right type of hair with the right type of laser with the right settings.

Laser only works on coarse dense hair. So it’s great for your underarms, bikini, and lower legs. For finer hair on forearms, you’ll need electrolysis. Upper leg hair is usually not coarse enough either.

Please read the FAQs at the link below.

Laser will be cheaper overall than electrolysis btw since it doesn’t remove hair one by one. You also spend a lot less time on the table since you only come in once every 2 months.

Apologies for taking so long to reply. Thanks for the help! I have wanted to get my arms done, and thought, because there was so much that laser would be better/cheaper/easier. However, as you’ve said, it is better with coarse hair and mine is not coarse, but there is so much! It would take ages for them to clear it. It seems really difficult in the UK to find a reputable place.

I don’t mean to be graphic but how much of the bikini line do they normally do? Do they do lower down, or only at the top, sorry that probably doesn’t really explain it well, kind of meant where the inner thigh meets it… Sorry, never had that area done, in any way professionally, so haven’t a clue.

You can choose what you want to get done in the bikini area.
There are usually three options:
bikini basic- just get the hair that is on the sides, inner thigh, just make it look more clean I guess
bikini plus- leave small amount of hair in whatever shape you want
bikini complete- all hair down there

You can choose to remove however much you want on your bikini line. The more they remove, the higher the price usually.

Yes, doesn’t matter how much hair is there. For laser, it only matters whether it’s coarse. It sounds like you need electrolysis only on your arms. An average electrologist removes 5-10 hairs per minute, so it’s not impossible.
