Laser on male legs and bikini?

Just thought I’d ask I was thinking about having laser hair removal on my legs again and bikini area just cause I am like a gorilla on the lower half of my body. I was just wondering cause I do have some spots that don’t have any hair whatsoever down there and I have already had treatments with a gentlase 18-16mm 12 joules “not much results if any possibly stimulated lower leg hair” . So what im trying ask is that are these areas prone to getting stimulated by laser? I am a male with thick black hair and have olive skin tone? What would be my best option thanks

I’m having the same done, but I haven’t had any issues of hair stimulation that I know of. I’ve got pubic hairs like tree trunks and the laser is thinning them out pretty well. Some hairs are stubborn, for sure, but slowly and steadily getting thinner and going away. Hair growth stimulation from laser seems to be a rare occurrence, from what I’ve been reading on here, so I doubt you should have much of an issue. I am doing gentlase as well and from a technician in Aventura. She’s the best and has a larger percentage of male clients.

Hair growth stimulation is not a rare occurrence at all Hairfree Hunk. I have had it happen to me first hand that why i am asking this question. but there are certain areas that the laser does respond well to without any stimulation.

If someone could list these areas that do not usually get stimulated by laser and that do, that would be awesomely helpful being that i am concerned

also i have attached an image below if anyone knows what type of laser i should use on my skin type that would be great as well! keep in mind though i have already had bunch of areas done with the candela gentlelase without really any results at all so i don’t know if that’s a good choice for me.

Ive actually had 2 treatments with the gentlelase on my legs as well… Kind of feel it stimulated more hair actually

Your skin type seems to be IV. You should be treated with a Yag laser. GentleYag by Candela is one of the best Yag lasers.

Agree with mumbaigirl - you definitely need a YAG.

Explains why they treated at such low settings with the GentleLase and why you didn’t see any results.

You may want to try Soprano XL as well, I have been doing it on my legs for several months now and so far the results I find are comparable to when I have treatments with Apogee Elite alexandrite or GentleLASE. I get complete shedding and remain hair free for a good 12 weeks or so. I’m also skin type 4 very similar to yours. My legs aren’t quite that hairy maybe half that but I’ve had good results. Just had a session 2 days ago actually but as it’s starting to thin in some areas we switched to hair removal mode which is single pulse, which hurts more than any laser I’ve ever used. I’ve had a session with Apogee Elite YAG MPX on my legs and hardly had any shedding and was at high settings. I know Soprano XL takes some heat around here but I think I would recommend it personally over a Yag.

how much worse did it become? Do you have before and after photos? How long untill you noticed the stimulation? You could share your story on the thread ‘report hair stimulation’ to help others…
