I’m new here and I have read many of your posts around, they’re very helpful!
I am looking for a place to get laser treatment, I am in the Middle East and we don’t have lots of options here. Someone suggested I go to a center called Silkor and I got this video (start watching from 1:40):
Which machine are they using? I think LighSheer is written on the side? Is this the right laser to use? On their website (SILKOR UAE | The Top Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery Center) they list the lasers they use, including Diode LighSheer and Lumenis One. and they claim that these types work for all skin types with coarse hair. Is this true?
I’m just trying to get a sense of whether they seem to know what they’re doing or not. (They offer a touch-up session 3 weeks after each treatment)
It’s a LightSheer, and if they’re treating his face and he says he doesn’t feel anything then it’s a waste of time as face should be brutally painful if they are using proper settings.
Thanks for your reply! Should laser be brutally painful? He mentioned that it’s bearable pain - like a rubber band, it should be even more painful than that? Does that apply to all body parts or just the face?
It depends on the area, some are less than others. It should be painful but not unbearable but on the face it should be really painful. Just because there’s so much dark coarse hair on the face versus other areas of the body. It’s hard to judge by the video though since it is a promotional video. They aren’t going to have someone screaming in pain if they’re trying to get clients. Best would be to go and see if they can do a test patch etc.
LightSheer is fine, it’s harder to use. I believe diode works on all skin types but it won’t be as effective on darker skin. A yag would be more appropriate then.
