I have had 4 laser hair removals with almost no results. I found that they were using settings that were much too low. My new settings are:

Candela Gentlelase
Skin Type II
14J
18mm

Will these results be permanent? The doctor claimed they were using lower settings before because the pulse duration was high, is there any truth to that?

(Assuming your hair is coarse enough) I think if you really are a type 2 you can handle more than 14j. I am type 3 or 4 and could handle 16j on 18mm. I read around here that some people did get good results with 14j but at least 16j should be your aim.
