I have folliculitis de calvans. To this point I have had 4 full treatents on my scalp for laser hair removal. I am not sure of all the specs, but I have been using the GentleLase machine with 24J’s and above each time. I have seen decent results but still have very patchy hair. I am undergoing 3 more treatments as my insurance company has paid for 7 total treatments. Each procedure takes roughly 1 and a half hours. The last treatment I had which was 7/25 the nurse did 375 pulses.

I am open to answering questions and giving insight into scalp treatment.

What is folliculitis de calvans? Any amount of detail is most appreciated.

Do you know why they’re not using an 18mm spot size which is largest? The only way to treat on 24J and up on this machine is to use 15mm or smaller spot size. You may get better coverage and less patchiness if they use a largest spot size and overlap by at least 10%.
