laser hair removal on eyebrow and hairline...

SO I got hair removed from the top of my brow and sides of my hairline for which I would like to grow back. i am the perfect canidate for laser removal. its been 3 months as of my last appointment, no hair shedding and very little pepperspots were in the areas. a lot of sizzling sounds made during the treatment. hair growth was delayed 3 months and now the hair growing back is uber fine and barely visible. whats happening has it not finished growing back. the laser tech said its probably just delayed growth and 75% of my terminal hairline hair should return give it some time. but I’m freaking out because the hairline looks artificial and my scalp shows I just wanted to lighten the hair not have it dissappear completely.

anybody have a similar experience the area treated was treated with a pretty high setting at 50 joules (IPL)

for this you shouldn’t use laser but electrolysis as you can perfectly choose what you want to remove and what not…

We can’t really comment anything on this. Are you male or female? How many sessions have you had and what IPL device was it that you were treated with? Laser/IPL shouldn’t be used on eyebrows it’s too inaccurate you should be using electrolysis. If you were treated properly, hair that was removed will not come back so not sure what you mean when you say you want hair to grow back.

I’m female this was after one session of IPL with Yag I think it was a short wavelength and 50 joules of. I thought I was probably just reducing the hair as their is only the possibility of 25% being reduced but it looks like it all was affected. I guess after three months and sparse and light hair growth its not coming back??

not the first session in the course of the treatment. but the first session of removing hairline hair.

Give it another month. Are you waiting for new hair to come in? It sounds like it is, but it’s sometimes finer when it first shows up. With some time, it will return to what it looked like previously.

Unfortunately, this is just a waiting game. You just have to wait and see. It’s impossible to predict how much will still grow in.

p.s. Try to post all of your story in one thread so we can easily follow

^Thanks I highly appreciate you responding. I am waiting for the hair to return and it is returning but not the same thickness as the rest of my terminal hair on my scalp its very fine like vellus hair fine. It was bare smooth for 3 months, and now since 1.5 weeks whats been growing back is very very fine, I was wondering if its been permanently reduced to this in one setting? I mean I never noticed the hair growing out and being extruded, there were only a few pepperspots that I could see with the naked eye. unless my hair burned and dissolved in my skin I would look like to me it had not been affected except a growth delay, but now its growing back finer than vellus hair. my vellus hair on my face is thicker than my scalp hair :(. what a mistake i thought one session wouldn’t have affected much at all. little did I know.

It won’t be permanently reduced to that after just 1 session, when it all grows back you probably wouldn’t even notice a difference. Give it time it will get thicker. The type of reduction you’re talking about would take multiple treatments to be permanent.

^ thank you. I was thinking since it was a pretty high fluency setting maybe it did its magic in one sitting. So I guess its safe and maybe everything will be fine in a years time or so. Wish I hadn’t put myself in this position in the first place. but thanks everybody for the positive feedback! hope all goes well with everyone :).

learn from me people never touch your hairline or eyebrows with laser!

Those words need an 26 point font.

^ I know!! I just noticed in the light that the black hair might have even been converted into blond hair hence the reason it looks like its not growng back? is this a permanent effect or am I just seeing a temporary effect? and how long will it take for me to notice full regrowth of my hairline, the eyebrows are showing more regrowth and had reacted the same way, its growing back and filling in areas very slowly, but its not growing back way lighter either. the scalp scares me the most. thank you!

??? To Luchi last post. Can anyone answer this question???

Does anybody have answers to my last question, dark hair converted into blonde in one session is this permanent?? Lagirl?

There is a clear pattern of people reporting that laser has reduced hair to being finer and lighter. For some areas, that would be called SUCCESS. If enough of the follicle has been permanently destroyed, then this reducton is probably permanent. We don’t get much feedback months or even years later to say whether there is a clear pattern of hair that was was reduced to thinner lighter hair from darker thicker hair, growing back to a structure like the original hair. Anyone laser consumers out there reading that fall into this catagory? Please help luchi and NatalieV if you can.

When hair first grows out, it’s often finer and lighter. Then it matures and becomes thicker again. In this case, it’s not yet clear what hair you’re seeing. It may be hair from the next phase of growth.
