laser hair removal myths

There are tons of different myths about laser hair treatment floating around out there, at least that I have seen. If you are considering going for treatment its crucial to know what is fact and what is fantasy so you have realistic goals and expectations.

Here are some popular myths:

  • “laser hair removal can actually lead to increased growth”- if this one was actually true, laser hair removal would be a great alternative for hair restoration

  • “treatment procedures expose you to harmful radiation”- this is completely false as the radiation can not exit the light barrier

  • “treatments are equally effective for all hair types”- red hair is actually considered difficult for treatment and grey hair is impervious to these types of treatments

  • “permanent hair removal can be achieved in a single session” any clinic or doctor who tells you this is a quack! It usually takes several sessions to get the desired results

Any one have any more myths they wish to add?

I was looking at the link to the website and the information in the second paragraph concerns me:

“Electrolysis can be done on any part of the body. However, it might leave tiny scars because of the needle that is used in the process. This treatment is not ideally recommended for people with darker skin.”

When done properly electrolysis doesn’t leave scars, it is equally suitable for lighter and darker skinned individuals.

Also, laser hair removal can stimulate hair growth in certain circumstances, there are many individuals who have posted their experiences with this phenomenon on this website.

Thank you.

yes, when done properly

There are many instances of doctors who do not perform the procedure properly for whatever reason and as a result, do leave scars in some cases. I think the point here is to ALWAYS do research and find a reputable doctor/clinic with experience… or else you could be in for some major long-term issues

have a great day
