Laser Hair Removal Gone WRONG!

Hi there,

I had a treatment for laser hair removal a yesterday and am very worried i may be permanently scared or discoloured.

I guess the alexandrite laser was set at too high!

I have attached a picture in my profile and in the gallery and would love to get some advice on how bad the damage is and what i can do to get back to normal if possible.

Unfortunately it seems anyone with or without training can perform the treatment. I wish i knew this before and hope i am not damaged for life.

Kind Regards,

.

I can’t see your picture.

thank you,

Where on your body did you have the treatment done? Do you know what settings were used?

It was on the lower back and at about 18joules with alexandrite laser.

Do you think this will leave scars?

the clinic, who has no medical training, says it will likely go away but i think its wishful thinking.

Are there any creams etc i can use to help minimise damage?

Many thanks,

Well, hopefully our laser specialists, Choice and Chris (Romeo) will have to respond to this. You can private message them from this site and see what they think. I don’t know if they check in on hairtell once a day or not.

I’m thinking it will heal - just give it time, but I am not a laser specialist.

it will definitely heal within 2-3 weeks. No worry. If you wish, you can buy VITA K from CVS and apply twice a day on the area and let it absorb for 10-15 minutes.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your fast reply and advice. I am glad to hear you think its not permanent.

I have been using 99% aloe vera cream so far as per a nurses advice. I have been told it has anti-scar properties. Not sure we have the product you suggest here in the UK but i am researching.

Many many thanks again,

(i wish my clinic could have offered the knowledge you do)

Aloe Vera Gel, the purest you can find, will work if you can’t find Vitamin K as Chris suggested.
