Laser Hair Removal Experiences

I did a little bit of research before getting my laser done. I went to Ideal image, a nationally recognized company, and some local companies. I went with the cheapest offer, $2,700 for full body compared to 8-10,000. At first, when I went to my consultation the doctor and his office seemed professional and knowledgeable but when I went in for my first treatment I was worried because the treatment room was icky and he asked me how high I wanted to go with the laser!! (Like I should know??) After two treatments with what I think was the “suprano” or maybe yag he got the alexandrite and switched me to that. during the treatments I saw semi-good results (my bikini area grew back in stripes like the tech didn’t cover the whole areas) but a few months later it was like it never happened. Now I’m doing more research about the effectiveness of these lasers. I’ll also say that besides the doctor asking me how high I want to go, he also burned me, I never had the same girl treat me more than once(some didn’t speak good English!!!), I don’t think he used a coolant besides ice packs on me and he had me purchase numbing cream.

I’m 21, very light skinned, thin medium colored hair on my legs and dark thick hair in my bikini area and arm pits.

If you live in south Florida DO NOT GO TO Dr. Bradley A. Bodner at the Center for Alternatives to Surgery!

Thanks for posting feedback. The areas you’re looking to treat should be relatively easy to do. Ideal Image actually had good lasers, but it’s a chain, so their clinics vary depending on the management.

Where in south Florida are you located? There are many clinics around. Look for someone with an alexandrite laser for light skin like GentleLASE.

PLEASE read our FAQs first and check out at least 3-4 clinics before you make any decisions. I would recommend not paying up front for anything. Start with one smaller area like bikini and take it from there. See how things go.

Btw, you do need 6-8 treatments. Striping is not ok and means spots were missed. But generally, you should expect hair to look like it’s back 8-12 weeks after each treatment for the first couple treatments since you’re seeing NEW hair, not the same hair return.

p.s. Michelle, I’m glad your’e finally admitting that you’re promoting yourself on this site. Would you at least share what machine you use and what your experience is like? Why should this person trust you? Recommendation via TV is pretty useless unless you did treatments for that person and they’re very happy.
