Laser for PFB?

Hey dontworry how did your shedding go? What % of the hair is gone would you say?

I would probably estimate 20% of the hair has been removed. I can see why it takes 5-6 treatments to complete. I’ll try to take some pictures later today.

When you say removed though I mean how much has shed from the full amount you had? Like did all the hairs fall out, or 80% or? Hopefully not just 20% since that’s too low…

ALL treated hair should shed within 3 weeks of your treatment. How are you judging this 20%?

Only 20% shedding? That’s terrible!! Even the worst candidates for laser in the world have better results than that. D: It’s only been ten days, so hopefully more will fall out. If you don’t see nearly complete shedding in the next week or two, I would be royally pissed.

Whether or not the hair was killed, you should have 100% shedding. That doesn’t mean the follicle was killed, it just means the laser passed over that area. No shedding means they didn’t even hit those hairs in the first place.

Do the math: Only 20% of the treated hair is killed per session (more or less), so if they only treated 20%, and 20% of THAT is killed, that means you’re only getting 4% results instead of the normal 20%!

Well then, I should be pissed. There is about 20-25% shedding. The rest of my face still has hair and I’m sure it won’t be shedding because the hair is firmly planted when I tuck on them. Also the hair is growing. I knew she missed a lot when I left the office but I was more concerned if it would actually work.

I figured all the hair that falls out would be gone not only 4%…

You need to give it full 3 weeks. Then judge. At 3 weeks, if more than 10-15% is still there, ask for a free touchup.

They should be overlapping when treating to avoid missing spots.

dontworry: As I said, it’s early yet. Wait until at least the third week. But to clarify, the laser doesn’t kill 4% of a treated area; it kills about 20% of a treated area. But since they only treated 20% of your face, 20% killed of 20% treated is 4% only. Make more sense?

Hopefully next week you’ll see all the shedding you’ve been waiting for. Let us know what happens!

An update.

Thank-you for sharing your experience and posting photos. I’m going through similar (for same reasons, shaving sucks!) but with electrolysis. I am thinking of combining with some laser to weaken the darkest hairs I have. I’ve had laser on chest and shoulders, Alexandrite, with pretty good results for ginger hair.

Once you get to the 3 week mark, I would ask for a touchup if more than 10% or so of hair remains. It’s important, especially on this area, to avoid patchy results in the future.

I will be going for my second session today. Same place.

Second session completed. I’ve agreed to let Judy from Flash Laser Aesthetics take pictures of me and place them within my thread. I don’t know when or how long that will be but I figured this could help many understand what you might experience after a session with the Soprano XL.

One day after 2nd treatment.

These were the pictures taken 5min after the procedure.

Here are some more pics of my hair grown out after two sessions. I have my third session April 4th

And here is a picture of what my neck was like prior to the two sessions. You can really see the difference.

Thanks for taking the time to post these!
