I’ve had two very good treatments on my legs with gentlelase. Since I was pleased with my results, I referred my friend and my sister to the same practitioner a couple of years later. I haven’t seen my friend’s results, but I heard she has some new discolorations from the treatment. However, what really horrified me were my sisters legs. They have round 2cm diamater circular burns all over, and lots of crescent shaped ones too. The marks are very strangely shaped in that they are either perfect circles or perfect crescents. They are extremely, extremely dark. Nothing like the “normal” spots I had when I had laser. I am terrified for her that she’ll be left with these scars for good. She’s recovering from a surgery right now so she can’t go to see the woman who did her treatment for a while (she also can’t talk now), but she plans to go back after she recovers. I’m really scared for her though–can people recover from bad laser induced burns with no scarring?
I should add that there wasn’t blistering, just very, very dark and painful burning. I’m worried she was burned in the deeper layers of the skin. I’m also worried because now that she is bed ridden, it could be a month post-burns before she can go back and see the doctor who treated her. Will it be too late? Will she be stuck with these scars for good?
They are similar to these scars:

but a bit darker
Yes, there can be recovery with no scarring. Have her call me at 212-750-2000 so I can give her further instructions.
