Laser burn, need advice

Hi,
I used Ideal Image for laser hair removal on my legs (knee and below) and on Wednesday was my third treatment. This time the process hurt a LOT and i mentioned this to the nurse that was doing the procedure. Almost immediately after the procedure i pointed out to her that my legs were turning red and she told me it was normal. When i got home my legs started to swell and were burning and covered by bloody red patches. I’ve been taking pictures of it throughout the last two days to at least somewhat document the side effect. I went to see a dermatologist yesterday and he confirmed that it was a laser burn.
The nurse at Ideal Image kept saying that this wouldn’t have happened have I taken the Benadryl and Pecid “like she told me to” three days in advance…
So now I am sure that I will not go back to Ideal Image again but I would like to get my money back. Unfortunately, they don’t do payments as you go, it is a lump sum at the start.
Has anyone ever had a problem like this and what’s the best way to go about retrieving your money.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Benadryl helps people who get a histamine reaction. If this is a burn, that’s different. Either their machine was malfunctioning or the settings were too high this time. I would compare settings to your previous treatments there.

Burns resolve themselves, so this isn’t permanent. Getting money back is hard, but you can try going through management or your credit card company if that’s how you paid.

If you continue treatments, I would only make appts with the most experienced tech there.

Thanks, I’m glad to hear that this isn’t terribly unusual.
I was just amazed that they kept sticking with “histamine reaction” even after I showed them my legs. I could hardly walk all day yesterday because it felt like my legs were 300lbs each.
The girl that did the treatment last time was a different one that two times before and she didn’t seem to care at all unlike the first one.
The treatment hurt so much that at one point i jerked my leg and almost kicked her in the face :frowning:
From all the reviews i read, sounded like Ideal Image is very difficult to deal with when it comes to money. www.my3cents.com has dozens of posts of angry women. :frowning:

All clinics where you pay up front and which have no refund policies are difficult to deal with. They set those policies for a reason. We advise not to prepay for anything if at all possible. Many decent clinics take payments after each treatment.

You should treat this as any other burn. The doctor can prescribe a cream etc.
