Just testing the water and a bit about myself.

Hey everyone, I have been thinking about hair removal for a long time and not a day goes by where I don’t obsess about it. I’m 22, male and would say I’m either I or II on the Fitzpatrick scale.
I used to think that I needed laser hair removal on the areas that I am most concerned about, upper arms, shoulders upper and lower back but due to this site (thankfully) came across the warnings about these areas.
I would say the hair is less coarse than public hair but are somewhat coarse and the hair is relatively dense but the length of the hair may make it seem there is more terminal hair than there really is. I will get some photos up at some point but it is difficult to take a photo of something that provokes tbh shame and embarrassment but I thought this would be a good start. Sorry about the rambling!

Can you muster up the courage to visit laser and electrolysis techs. and get their opinions?. You might end up needing to start laser for some areas and finish with electrolysis. Just don’t allow yourself to be pressured into signing any contracts until you have gotten enough feed-back and have done your research.

I understand that you are embarrassed to take photos but that actually might be a good start. You are anonymous here.

The problem is that Laser techs will 99.9% of the time tell you the area and hair is suitable for Laser, even if the hair is too fine or the area is susceptible to induced growth. The latter is often the case in the treatment of the shoulders, upper arms and upper back.

If you can put up some photos, we can at least give you an idea if the hair is coarse enough for Laser… because if it’s not, there is no point even thinking in that direction.

Been there done that. Seriously its not that big a deal. If you don’t like it get rid. Post a picture of the areas. personally id say stay away from laser.

Sorry about the delay in getting a picture; I tried my phone but there was no detail and you couldn’t really see hair type or density. I will try my family’s proper camera to show the hair type and density and get the pictures up. I was wondering roughly how much an hour I would be paying and realistically how easy in general it is to find an electrologist? Cheers.

Where are you based?
