Just started Laser! Can I use electroysis along with it??

Hi. First let me say that this is an incredible site- I’ve been a fan for years!

So, here’s the deal. I’m a man who wishes to get rid of all of my facial hair. I began treatments last week with a NY laser Clinic. This Doctor believes he will get incredible results- I am a type III with a dark corse beard.

His position is that he uses 2 different lasers (the yag and the diode) and does 1 pass over the entire face once every 3 weeks- (it is an aggressive approach), but having done laser years ago and not really having gotten great results on my face I am stepping out on faith again.

My question is: Can I go for electroysis visits between laser treatments? Is it advised? I want this hair gone! and I want to be assertive about it.

Question 2: Does anyone know what to suggest for an electroylsis who uses a other pain management methods other than emlax (?) in New york city?
Thanks

first, i have 1 question:

why every 3 weeks? that’s way too often and really pointless. there should be nothing to treat at 3 weeks post the previous treatment if he did the first one correctly as this is the point where you should have all treated hair fall out and the dormant hair hasn’t had time to start growing in. I hope he’s not charging you for treatments every 3 weeks. That’s a great way to make 3 times more money as he should be for the same results as he would get treating every 8-10 weeks as he’s supposed to do.

To answer you other question – no, you do should not get electrolysis until you are completely done with laser treatments and have reached a plateau. Meaning that the remaining hairs are so fine and sparse, that they don’t have enough pigment for laser to get them.

Also, you should understand that this area is one of the hardest to treat on a man as it’s highly stimulated by hormones. Meaning that you will probably need touchup treatments once a year or so after you’re done to keep up the clean look as NEW hair follicles become active with time. Unless you’re taking hormonal medication (like transexual men on these sites), you will probably not achieve 100% permanent removal without that, but most likely easily shaved finer hair instead.

If you had spent what you have on LASER with someone like me or Fino Gior in Great Neck NY, you would either be finished and in no need of female hormones, or you would have a stable permanent hair reduction greater than 50%

The average male face is very hard to get much headway using LASER, and one would have to “Finish with electrolysis” anyway. If you want to have a little fun, and do a little test, why not have your LASER tech do your cheeks, a relatively easy area, and have only an electrologist work on the ball of your chin and the area coming from the corner of your mouth down to your jaw line – which is one of the hardest areas on the male face. This will set up a situation where we have LASER in a major head start, and in no time, you will see the relative powers of the two methods.

But if you don’t do it, you won’t know what method will win… or do you?

Oooooooohhhh! An experiment! How “Mythbusters” of you to suggest James. This would be very telling. I hope you try it out greekpuma. Either way, good luck!
