I agree that a lot more than 99% of men have some sort of back hair. Not everyone’s entire back is covered, but even those backs that look completely hairless have a hair here and there I’ve noticed. I would say that the majority have SOME hair at least. Even if they’re small patches. And then so many get it waxed, that it’s hard to say. If you go to a salon that does waxing, that area is ALWAYS listed. I think there is a reason for it. It’s pretty common.
Well, I think about less than 1% of guys have a hair problem on their shoulders and upper arms/back that are 20-30 years old. Look at pro athletes, college athletes, etc. Have you ever seen a NBA player with back hair or shoulder hair? I haven’t. Do you ever see people at the gym with back hair and shoulder hair? I don’t. Maybe they shave, I don’t know…but if you can shave…then it’s not a problem. Just shave. For the people that can’t shave because of irritation or it’s just too thick to shave…they are far and few between. Sure I have friends how have a small little patch of back hair, very small, not even noticeable. That doesn’t count.
The last 3 months of my life have easily been the worst day of my life. Every single day of my life is worse than the one before it. I can’t really take my shirt off with a girly, so I just quit talking to women I was interested in all together. It’s not like I’m going to ever get close to them until I can clear up my hair problem. I have scabs, irritation everywhere, and then the hair still comes in. So I pretty much live in seclusion from females. I’m hoping I can get rid of this problem by next December because there is actually someone I like, but she lives 5 hours a way. Thank god…cuz then she can’t come see me very often, and I can time when she comes and my problem.
I have a feeling it’s going to be about 2 more years of this. I’m almost 3 months along and I haven’t even gotten to a full clearance yet of the entire area. But it should go quicker from here on out. Getting large body electrolysis feels like being in a prison.

Maybe I should mention that I’m in my mid 20s, and all of the guys I’ve met with back/shoulder hair have been under 27.
You’re probably right, there aren’t many people in the spotlight showing off their back hair, but there are plenty of “regular” guys with moderately hairy backs and shoulders.
I agree. This is not as uncommon as may seem. It’s probably as common as upper lip hair on women which is usually concealed well by women - and at least 50% of women I know have it (those who admit to it), if not more. Of course, it varies in degree, but there is at least something on many backs.
