Is this what I should expect?

I started getting the hair on my back removed and I am 14.5 hours in now. I was wondering what I should expect as far as how much I should see removed by now. I understand everyone is different so here are some pics.

She has spent most of her time on this side

This side has not had much done to it, maybe an hour total so you should be able to compare the two

She also spent 2 hours on the back of my neck

so, what do you think, does that seem right for the amount of time I have spent? Or should I think about another electrologist. I just want to make sure I am going about this in the right way seeing as how much time I will be putting into it.

It’s hard to tell for anyone since electrologists are limited by their own hand-eye coordination, eye sight, physical health, vision equipment which all play a factor in how fast they can work.

14 hours does not sound unreasonable at this point looking at how much you have. I’d say even 25-30 hours would be reasonable for first clearance. If you wanted to shop around and compare speed, have different electrologists clear similar sized sections to give you an idea of who works fast. But remember that speed is not your only factor. If you get less than average kill rate with each clearance, speed won’t help if she has to retreat same hairs still.

Judging by what she has done I would think she will be in the ballpark of 50-70 hours for the first clearance, that is why I was asking, is that reasonable? I could be off, it is my back and it is hard for me to see what has been done, and what is left to be done.

I hope dfahey can chime in soon as she cleared a man’s back and posted his photos here. I don’t remember how many hours she did on first clearance but it was a heavy case. Michael Bono is our resident back clearing master and can give you a more expert opinion too.

You’ve gotten good advice, so far as to trying out a few electrologists but speed and Accuracy/kill rate are both equally important. We dont see a before picture, so its really hard for anyone here to say what it looked like before your electrologist started. There are some clues, a few untouched area that suggest the hair was quite dense.

As to Total Treatment Time or time even to first clearance, it could be anyones guess at this point, we just dont have enough information.

Thanks for the advice, I was hoping to get some opinions from some people here. I am new to this so all the information I get is really helpful. I may try out a few other electrologists down the road and see how that goes. The problem is there are not a lot of options where I live, I drive about an hour and a half to see my current one.

Read this topic on back case and see if it will help you. I think it’s reasonable to expect to invest $4,000 - $8,000 dollars and sometimes more depending on how hairy and dense the back case is.
