Is this overtreatment? (Thermolysis)

Hello there,

I have done my really first session of thermolysis and I wonder if this is a result from overtreatment or it is an expected outcome. I am a bit worried about scarring, I can notice a pitted area on my chin already and I am a bit concerned, after a week I feel the skin a bit sore and itchy (I have put an antibiotic cream for the first 4 days).

This picture was taken 3 days after the thermolisys session.

Thank you in advance for the attention and the help (:

Better lighting (I think), this picture is one week after the treatment

that all looks fine. Quite a bit of redness, but it’sonly been a week . This will be absolutely fine.

This will totally heal although I prefer blend on the face especially on smaller hairs like yours. A good after care product like incellderm calming gel or E11ements spray will really help minimize the trauma.

It’s a little more redness than I like to see after a week. But with it being a first appointment your technician needs to learn your skin and it’s reactions, I would just inform them of the reactions you noticed and how long it lasted at your next appointment. Keep it clean and lightly moisturized, don’t use any heavy ointments. Some clients have more of a reaction than others. If you were my client I would go a little lower or switch to blend on your next appointment to see how your skin handles that.

I don’t find this acceptable, neither would my clients. Will it heal, yes, slowly. I am old school with 34 years experience. Whether it’s Thermolysis or Blend, little to no scabbing is expected.
Best of luck in your Electrolysis journey.

Sorry but I agree with Joyce’s comment. I use thermolysis on the face and neck all the time, my clients report that any redness disappears after a couple of hours - or next day if they have sensitive skin. I think.the power was too high. Wait a few weeks and allow your skin time to recover, then mention the redness to your electrologist so that they can adjust the settings.
