Is this normal...?? (Pictures included!!!)

I have been going for electrolysis on my hairline for about 6 months and Im still getting quite a bit of reqgrowth… about 1 inch. of hair in area after 2 weeks. Is this normal? I have also attached a few picture which shows the area approx. one hour after treatment. Just wanted to know if this is normal?? Should there be alot of scabbing / redness?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

How long after treatment were these pictures taken? Is the regrowth thinner?

Can you tell about your treatments? Blend? Thermolysis? Plucking sensation? Are you healed in between treatments? Aftercare? No detail is too small.

Can’t see the pictures. Can you upload them to www.photobucket.com and post here?

What type of electrolysis is being used? How many electrologists did you try before picking yours?

What kind of side effects are you experiencing and for how long?

Has the hair gotten finer? Are you coming in any less than you did before or you’ve gone every 2 weeks for 6 months? Is all the hair you want gone removed each time? Is everything healed by the time you go in again?

I have added new links to the photos, hopefully you will be able to open them. The pictures were taken about an hour after treatment. The regrowth is thinner, but Ive had to go every two-three weeks for the last six months. The hair is about half to a quarter of an inch one week after treatment. The side effects consist of a little tenderness in the area for about a week after treatment. There is not complete clearance after treatment, although most of it is gone. There is usually some fine hairs and hairs below the skin that are left over. My electrologist is using the blend method. I am worried that once treatment is completed the area will look darker then the rest of my skin??? Sometimes I can smell burnt hair and hear a sizzle sound, is that normal? She told me that it was a reaction or caused by fluid (oil) near the root…??

When you are done, your skin will blend in to looking uniform in a matter of weeks. No more than 3 months.

There are lots of reasons you could hear a sizzle sound. Some other possibilities are shallow insertion, to much, or too many thermolysis pulses during the treatment, and so on.

The pictures look ok to me.

Are you using witch hazel and 100% aloe vera gel to help with the healing? Tea tree oil would be fabulous at nightime - just a dab. What does your electrologist say about the healing? Can she make some adjustments in the energy and timing so it doesn’t look so scabby and red? This will heal just fine. Use the aftercare above to speed up the healing process.

The pictures look ok for an hour after the treatment. What aftercare are you using?

Blend is a slower method. Thermolysis would be faster.

How long are your treatments now? I’m not understanding why you’re coming in only once evey 2 or 3 weeks if you’re not getting clearance each time…You should come in as often as possible in the beginning to kill hair while it’s weak and to get to your clearance, so that you can in afterwards to only clear the NEW hair that popped up. That way you always look clear.

I am going to hazzard a guess here and say that her electrologist is spreading around treatment, and so feels that she has done a lot of treatment in the entire area, and is asking her to wait for the entire area to heal before she will go in there again. Am I right?
