Hi,
I just had my first electrolysis session, thermolysis, on my cheek. Is this a normal reaction approx three hours post session? Are there any tips to help calm down the bumps etc?
Thanks

Looks normal to me but I’m not a professional. It should calm down after a day.
It’s a histamine reaction, which is a normal part of the healing process and should resolve within a day, sometimes two, after treatment. I think the level of your histamine reaction is a bit dramatic given the typical hairs in this location and the amount of energy required to treat. It could also be that you naturally have a higher histamine response regardless of treatment strength.
Either way, there is nothing concerning here.
100% normal.
Hi Asam. It’s normal, but could probably be refined a bit for next time if you give your electrologist feedback. Show them this photo and maybe they will choose a different energy level. I highly recommend using organic, cold-pressed Aloe Vera gel that has been refrigerated immediately after treatment. Take it with you if you must or maybe your electrologist has it has an aftercare product for you already? It soothes/calms the skin nicely. Don’t get the cheap stuff with blue and green dyes added.
I love using cold aloe on my women of color especially to inhibit hyperpigmentation.
