Is this a good deal?

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone in the GTA has been to this place and if it is a good deal?

Their machine is LightSheer Diode. Takes care of my skin type (skin type 4)

Should I know anything else before purchasing? Any advice would be appreciated. TIA

Deal on Laser Hair Removal - Good?

Read the FAQ here to get more info about LHR treatments.

Good info there and can help you out.

Thanks LD27

Read that already, but I was wondering specifically about the actual venue/business (if anyone has gone to it) and the technology/device(i.e. LightSheer).

Should I be asking anything about the device?

Never been there, price seems reasonable, 8 vouchers does 6 full legs which works out to about $106 per session. Problem is if you’ve never been there before you hate to buy any package go and find that it sucks lol. LightSheer is okay, just depends as mentioned about on your skin type hair etc, need to read the FAQs.

I emailed them and they did mention the following:

If you are a skin type 4 or under we could commence the treatments right away. If you are a skin type 5 we would do the test patch first. If we find that it is to strong for you than your voucher’s can be refunded. Typically we have had great success with our laser on all skin types!
Hope this helps!

I would like to use 8 vouchers for Chest & Abdomen, that comes to $730 CAD (with our taxes), which mean, $122 per session for both chest and abdomen…worth it?

It’s a very good price, normally I’d say chest/abdomen averages around $250 even at the cheapest places in Toronto so this type of deal is really good. Like I said my only concern is that they may be incompetent lol. Like yeah the price is awesome but you’d hate to go and they do your first session and miss a bunch of spots, or use low settings or what not. So it’s just a risk you’re taking is all. I mean I’m sure it’s fine and I’d look at doing it myself if I needed that much done. Maybe you should ask them if you can buy 4 vouchers and only do 3 sessions or something instead?

Thanks Edokid!

Appreciate your response. I know. Thats what I am wondering as well. What if they are incompetent, I would be stuck with what I purchased.

I will ask them and see.

Thanks again

The thing is a lot of these places let you get a refund like the group buy site if the place is bad. Problem is what we consider bad may not actually be bad. Like if you don’t shed or they miss spots, it’s hard to convince the group buy company they didn’t do their job when the actual “experts” are telling them they did. I’m sure it won’t be bad though, it’s still a good price either way.

Groupon and many other discounting companies refund pretty easily actually. They don’t really argue with you.

LightSheer is more difficult to use than other machines. I would want to make sure they know what they’re doing first. Also, it’s not just about the machine. It’s about setting good settings. You can get no results with the best machine if settings are not aggressive enough.

Just today I got a refund from a Groupon for 6 “Laser” Hair Removal treatments (with IPL Palomar machine).

I already used 2 treatments, but from the very first treatment I felt that the facility was not up to sanitary standards and that the tech was completely clueless.

I described the situation to Groupon, and asked for partial refund in the form of credit on my Groupon account. To my surprise I received full refund (in the form of credit on my Groupon account).

Keep in mind thought the place he’s referring to is not Groupon. All places are different. I did a $19 for 40 mins of electrolysis with Snaggies. I’ve called the company to book my session about 10 times, always get voicemail, they never call me back, they don’t reply to my emails nothing, and it’s been hell trying to get a refund from Snaggies.

You are right.

We have local crowdcut (only Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN/and Atlanta, GA) which is popular locally and has awesome deals.
But their refund policy is pretty bad - just recently 2 business for which I had unused vouchers went out of business. I bet crowdcut knew it, but unlike Groupon they did not notify anyone. When I tried to get refund for the vouchers, all I got was credit for Crowdcut (not actual cash refund). Their reason is that they already paid the business and thus don’t have the money.

Living Social is no better either. The business was selling Brazilian blowout express treatment (normally around $85) as if it was full Brazilian blowout for $150 (normally $300). Basically they were saying that you are purchasing full Brazilian blowout, but when people tried to redeem the voucher, the business was doing only express treatment

LivingSocial refused to get involved.

edokid, I’d dispute the charge with your credit card at this point.
