is there any one out there that has the same or similiar problem as me? i used every type of hair removal method possible!!! now i have hair all over my face, not course enough for laser but fine enough for electrollysis. i’ve been before but i moved and havent gone since. i just went for a consultation and the woman charges 2xwhat i would normally pay an hr. she said i wouldnt need the full hour, but i beg to differ. she said maybe 2-3x a week and then when the areas start to clear less. ultimately i inquired just how long would it take to get the results i so desperatley want and need? she said about a year…does that sound reasonable. the areas needed to be treated are my checks, and lip and a couple strays on my chin. the hairs have left an awful 5 oclock shadow around my mouth (like a guys). she tells me its not that bad, but trust me when i say that it is! as vein as it may sound the only way for me to have a day to day “reality check” is with my camera phone…and it doesnt lie!!! there’s no mistaking a bare hairless face for a hairy one. anyone have any input for me???
It would take at least 9 months for every hair to show itself at least once on your face. I can’t say how long it would take for this person to get you to First Clearance, but even if you could be totally cleared in one hour (Not possible, but I am using that number for simplicity) then you would still need to come back about once a month over the course of 9 to 12 months, and so it would take about plus or minus 9 - 13 hours to finish in this hypothetical case.
it sounds like she doesn’t want to treat you for more than an hour at a time, maybe a concern with too much irritation. that’s why she probably recommends coming in a few times a week until you get your first clearance. that’s a good strategy. where are you located? what method does she use? have you sampled other electrologists in the area? you should try a few before choosing. how much does this one charge as opposed to the one before? where are you located? 9-12 months is the minimum you need to get rid of every hair if you stay on schedule and get every hair every time it shows up and still is in the anagen phase, and if she’s experienced and knows what she’s doing of course.
i’m used to paying 60 and hr she charges a little over 100 an hr. She said she’d start with thermolysis…because it’s the quicker method. It seems like every electrolysis tells me its not that bad but i know it is. I’m located in Hawthorne NJ and asked on the forum once before if anyone can recommend someone in the area that they’ve been to but no response. do you think she’ll be able to get even the fine ones on my lip? around my mouth is where theres the most irritaion and i dont know how to get rid of that…licorice exxtract for hyperpigmentation i was told but i dont know if that’s the problem…my dermatologist said chemical peels would help but i’m not sure.
