Is there any reason I couldn't just buy any galvanic machine with an anode and cathode placement like below to make my own machine?

My own galvanic electrolysis machine if that wasn’t clear.

“Build my own machine” is an infamous statement we (electrologists) sometimes hear, yet I am unaware of anyone who has accomplished this feat in the 45 years I have been an electrologist. It’s nothing but wishful thinking driven by an irrational idea to save money and an oversimplified view of challenges for which you have no idea until you are in over your head. What would you do even if you had a self-built machine? No one can learn how to safely and effectively perform electrolysis (galvanic or otherwise) by learning how to use a machine. Keep us posted. I can’t wait to hear how this turns out. Good luck.

I dont understand the infatuation with newbies wanting to “build their own machine” It’s like trying to build an automobile before you even know how to drive:) You wont know what is important, and these things affect your design. It’s been pointed out here many times over the years a simple galvanic circuit is very easy to build. Knowing how to use it is key.
Now teaching oneself electrolysis IS an accomplishable goal. I should know, it’s how I startedin electrolysis many years ago, right here as a newbie asking questions. I got the same answers from the pros. . Why? Yes, to the uninitiated, an electrolysis machine can seem dauntingly expensive. Still older machines useable in DIY are often easy to find if you knowwhere to look. Heck search "electrolysis Machine’ into marketplace sometime you might be surprised. You can easily spen d more than the few hundred bucks you would spend on a professionally built ( even if older) elecrolysis machine in components to “build” your machine in the first place. And when that doesnt work out the next revision and so on until you get it right. Why put yourself through that?

It was Mr James Walker VII , then moderator of this boarrd who unequivically said to me “Dont bother with that junk. Get yourself a good blend capableused professional machine. Learn with that, and you are already a step ahead…” It’s advice that served me well over the years.
By the way, most of the avexx and crap like you showed in the picture, are complete scams. Dont waste your time with them…
If you want to teach yourself electrolysis , or perform any meaningful electrolysis on yourself, do it with a proper machine. They are plentiful. Your wallet will thank you for manyyears to come for that advice.
The other thing is that while I said it’s very possible to teach yourself electrolysis or even do it on yourself, I would be the first to tell you that it is FAR from easy. There are some places you will not be able to treat yourself. It takes gobs of determination and grit. And it takes equal amounts of advice from professionals here. I could not have done it without the likes of James, Mike Bono o r Deedra Fahey. These people are gods gift to the world of electrolysis. .
