is the price correct?

Hi there,
I went for a free LHR consultation at Ideal Image in jacksonville, florida today. They told me that they use a Gentle Yag, a Candella Laser. the treatment for my chin and upper neck would cost me $920 and there would be 5 treatments.
I am going to go to few more places for consultation and check the price and experience of the techs. Ideal Image had techs with 1yr -1.5 yrs of laser experience.
What do you think, is this a fair price and experience?

Any thoughts.

Thanks
Amy

what color is your skin? are you male or female? is the hair coarse or fine?

it’s an average price. this clinic has good machines.

Thanks lagirl, I have been reading lot of posts by you in last few days and educating myself.
I am a woman with dark black hair, fair skin. and the hair is coarse.

good job on the research. make sure to read the FAQs. also, make sure to check out 3-4 more clinics with good lasers for your skin type before making the decision.

IDEAL IMAGE is by far the HIGHEST priced LHR company out there. I went for a consultation at their Tampa location and they gave me a price list. These are just a few of the popular areas and their prices. Basic bikini 995, Brazilian 1995, underarms 995.00 full legs 5000.00, men’s back 4000.00 (for my boyfriend)They do not get great results either. My friend signed up for facial hair removal (she is from the middle east) and she now has MORE facial hair than when she started. Their reponse to her was… Oh well sometimes that happens. SHE IS VERY UPSET. I chose to go with American Laser whose prices were originally higher but they give great discounts when you get there and they have a TRUE lifetime guarantee which Ideal Image does not. Hope this helps someone save time by not going in for a consultation.

So what is American laser’s lifetime guarantee? Would you mind copying it off of their consent form. My understanding of it wasn’t that good. Thanks,

Ideal Image’s prices are out of the ballpark. Underarm prices are too high. This stuff turns my stomach.

Just Google “American Laser Centers Complaints” and see what you may be getting yourself into. Do you really think a corporation that has earned such a bad reputation will stand behind a lifetime guarantee?

Check the Tampa Better Business Bureau, they’ve had 2 complaints filed since March 2006. May not seem like a lot, but my business is 20 years old, and not ONE complaint ever filed.

I agree with Choice. Ideal Image prices are quite high, but they use the most reputable lasers and usually don’t use used car salesmen techniques such as ALC. ALC doesn’t use good machines and their prices are not low either. Their “discounts” are not discounts. They’re just ways to get you to sign large contracts to lock you in, which are not refundable. Just a run a search here for all the complaints in addition to links above. Just rnu a google search too. There are several class action suits against ALC right now.

There are many private clinics that do hair removal, many of which also care about your results, not just getting you in and out and your money paid up front of course. Don’t think that those are your only options. Do your research for what’s best for you first before you sign anything. And recommend clinics only after you received results.

Induced hair on a face of someone with middle eastern skin is a known potential side effect. That’s why we don’t recommend treating that area, especiall with that skin type and if the hair is not very coarse. It would have happened at any clinic.
