I recently purchased a One Touch home electro kit and I’m not sure if it’s working as it should. First of all, there is no light or sound to indicate that it’s working. Even when the dial is turned up to 9 or 10 I can barely feel anything. You’re supposed to feel a tingle, and I’m not sure if I’m feeling it or imagining it. Two hairs eventually came out with a little bit of resistance but no pain as with plucking, but after at least a minute and the manual says maximum 30 seconds. I also couldn’t be sure that the root was attached. The other hairs I’ve tried doing won’t budge. I believe, but can’t be sure, that I’m doing the insertions correctly. A couple of times a white liquid has come out of the follicle, which is apparently something that happens, so that makes me think that something is working. Can anyone give any advice? Is the machine supposed to make a noise?
I tried again with more water on my fingers and it’s working. I can hear a sort of crackling noise when I touch the metal pad and the hairs are coming out now. Yay!
Have you searched these forums? As far as I understand, it works best with some modifications. I also think there was a very good webpage about it, so try a google search.
Those hairs that came out with a little bit of resistance are not properly treated. If you are serious about this, read an electrolysis text book to undertand the process. You may then also realise that it is worth buying a basic second hand machine to work with, rather than the one touch.
Rather than use tweezers, gently slide the hairs out using your fingers. If they hair is not sliding out with this gentle touch, then it requires more treatment.
Because really, the whole point is to kill follicles… there’s no point if that is not being achieved.
Thanks, Stoppit. I spent most of the afternoon reading various tips and emailing people who said they had had success. I then tried the same settings but longer time. I was tired at that stage so I wasn’t very successful and the insertions felt really difficult, I just couldn’t seem to get them right, but the two that I did get right I zapped for about 50 seconds on setting 4. Considering it goes up to 10, I felt that it was OK to go on for longer than recommended. The hairs just slid out. I wanted to run out onto the street and tell the first person I saw that I had nailed it but luckily I decided against it.
