Hello, I’ve been getting electrolysis for my chin and neck for 4 months. I haven’t experienced any problems on my chin, but some issues have started to appear on my neck. When I look at it under different lights, I’ve noticed a few pitted areas on my neck. In daylight, however, these pits are replaced by just dark spots. I can’t decide what it is, so I wanted to ask about it here. Is it scarring or just hyperpigmentation?
It’s just hyperpigmentation and uneven skin texture which is a possibility with electrolysis. It’s not permanent, so you can continue treatments without any concerns.

1000% what Thermo has said. Often there are small indents from wound contraction but these generally resolve over time. The sme with resulting hyperpigmentation. Nothing to stress about here whatsoever.
update after 6 months
hyperpigmentation is still there. i realized that electrolysis started to gave me orange peel skin and i stopped sessions. i tried arbutin serum for a while but it didn’t really help. it looks so bad that i consider getting a neck tattoo.
how long ago did you stop sessions, also 6 months ago? If so at this point it should be starting to fade, but hyperpigmentation can take up to a year or more to fade completely. If you have more sessions the inflamation and hyperpigmentation with it renews. You;ll be left with skin that is flawless. It just takes a lot longer than most people would like. The longest I have seen hyperpigmentation was about 3 years, but this was from a SEVERE burn on my arm( I rested my arm on a hot soldering iron accidentally while repairing trailer wiring) the damage from the worst possible electrolysis session could not compare. . Today I get no pigment in that spot, so I still know it is there, but isnt visible. It’s just paler than other parts of my skin
