Hello all,
I recently had a laser consultation visit and the establishment offered a package that included 6 treatments, with 6 complimentary “clean ups.” I’m wondering what a clean-up entails, and if it is a typical part of the process? To me, it sounded like I’d basically be coming in for 12 visits (in the beginning, the technician said, every 2 weeks) and I had always thought that 6-8 was standard.
Also, the area I thought I’d start with is my lower arms. Does anyone know if it’s possible to thin the hair there instead of removing it all? Thanks.
This is normal. Touchups are customary 2-3 weeks post treatment. Whatever didn’t shed by end of week 3, probably was missed and you have the opportunity to come in for a touchup on those hairs. However, actual treatments should be spaced 8-12 weeks apart at least.
It’s possibly to reduce the density of the hair. You will just need less treatments overall and you need to make sure they don’t miss many spots.
Btw, you should read the FAQs so you can determine if you’re using the best laser for your skin and hair type. That’s what matters the most for results as well as training of the laser operator. www.hairremovalforum.com/faq.cfm
