My leg hair seems to start growing back the minute after I shave. Also, I have sensitive skin and shaving is so irritating! Plus, I’ve tried every razor and cream out there and nothing makes my legs smooth at all! I have considered Laser removal, but am scared at the idea that it might not work. I know electrolysis would be permanent, but is it something that is typically done on the legs? What would an average cost be? I live in the Canton, Ohio area. Where can I find a good electrologist? Or is Laser a better option? I have light skin and very dark thick hair. I want this hair gone!
As a practicing eletrologist with experience in both modalities,I can without hesitation say the laser is your better option. Because of it’s large surface area starting out with electrolysis is a costly and arduous process. Please know that laser is not a permenant hair removal. it will require maintenance treatments after the recommended initial treatments.
Sounds like you are good candidate for laser hair reduction. I would seek out someone experienced who has an alexandrite laser, like a GentleLase. If you can find an electrologist that has invested in a quality MicroFlash or PicoFlash epilator, and you are insistent on doing electrolysis, this is the best way to go because many hairs can be treated per minute… We always advise electrolysis, after laser has done all it can for hairs that it can “see”.
Laser IS a permanent method of hair removal. I am living proof along with many others on these forums. It kills hair in the same way that electrolysis kills hair. Once it’s killed, it’s gone. If your body develops NEW hair with time, you’ll need touchups whether it’s after laser or after electrolysis since these methods only kill hair that’s present at the time.
Either way, as mentioned, laser is a good option for the legs if the hair is dark and coarse. It works great on this area. There is no more hesitation that you should have of laser “not working” than electrolyis not working. Both methods work well when you find someone who knows what they’re doing, whichever method they’re using. So your goal should be to do enough research ahead of time to pick the right place to get this done.
