The needle/probe will not penetrate veins.
Mine are quite pumped out and exposed. I will tell the electrologist to insert only as needed i guess. More, and the discharge will happen inside the veins! 
It is definetely permanent but requires a few iterations. I have done pubic, penis, testicles and anus, it is safe and worth for sure.
