IPL Who's had it, what machine & how'd it work?

I’m Still considering IPL W/ a Starlux Palomar 500 IPL machine, and have read that IPL is not the best machine for hair removal. Just wanted to hear from some of you that have tried this method and about your experience. What machine? Did it work? Would you do it again? What is you skin type? My skin type is a II and I have dark corse hair.
Thanks

I’ve done IPL on my abdomen 4 times with Lumines One. I did it because I didn’t know the diff between iPL and laser at the time. I’ve had great results, I’d say 80% reduction so far and the hair that remains is fine and not coarse any more so it definitely worked for me. Only concern I have is after reading about IPL and how the results are different, I only hope that it’s definitely permanent and doesn’t comeback. I’ve since switched to GentleLASE, but put it this way, if no one ever told me that IPL is less effective, I probably would still be going for it and happy with the results, however after doing a real laser, the results do seem much better, I’m hair free between sessions way longer and just seem to get a better reaction.

I’m an electrologist and I have personally observed a wonderful outcome for a transgendered client who had IPL treatments on her lower legs, full arms, feet, hands, chest and abdomen. She has remained stable for a few years now.

IPL works. But with more restrictions. The skin has to be lighter and hair more coarse to get the same results, and you’ll likely need more treatments. Also, many complain of hair coming back. You can usually tell if this will be the case if hair grows in too quickly between treatments. That’s a sign that it’s not killing it permanently.

Palomar IPLs are some of the better ones.

If you have very coarse and very dark dense hair, and this is the only thing around and cheap, it’s worth try if they know what they’re doing at your clinic. If some of these things are not present in your situation and you have other better machines at similar prices available to you, then I would get a better treatment for the same money.
