IPL what setting is effective?

Hi,

I have read something about the tria, participants of this forum question its effectiveness because of its low power 6-24 J/cm2.
What i wonder is when does it start to be effective.
I know that it changes per skin and hair type, but what is it for the ideal skin and hair type(the one who needs 8 sessions for a significant reduction).

I also read that the best light to destruct hair follicles is 810nm. A laser treatment is very close to 810nm
while a IPL treatment uses a wide range(690nm-1000nm), so is it fair to state that you need less j/cm2 with diode treatment in comparison with IPL?

Please read the FAQs at the link below. It’s impossible to answer your questions since they are not the right questions to ask. There are 3 different kinds of true lasers and there are IPL machines. Settings are not comparable between machines. Also, settings involve several variables, not just the joules which is only one part of the equation.
