Interval between visits

Hi can I just check interval spacing. I’ve had laser (ND: yag)on part of my buttock area today it took all of ten minutes if that and I’ve been told to come back in 6 weeks.

Bits of it were quite painful and other shots I hardly noticed and because of the location it is going to be difficult for me to judge shedding/effectiveness. But I suspect that 6 weeks will be too soon to return. Given that the usual advice given here for legs is normally 8-10 weeks. Should i apply the same rule for the buttock area?

Yes, 8-12 weeks is the norm for this area as well. You shouldn’t have much to treat at 6 weeks.

10 mins is a really short treatment. How small of an area are you treating? Is the hair coarse?

She told me she would laser part of the buttock area the rest of the hair is too fine and I agree on that - so maybe why it was limited to 10 minutes (it cost $154). I was more concerned about having the crease area done where most of the coarse hair is and the reason why i went to the clinic. But she only seemed to do a couple of zaps on that area arguing that they don’t like to go too close to the muscle.

Thanks for clarify the interval I’m going to cancel & re-book in 10-12 weeeks depending on how the hair returns it will then give me a better idea of what she did or didn’t achieve.

It’s difficult to find anywhere that does this part of the body and then the embarrasment is made worse when you have to discuss it in an open lobby with the people on reception. So I didn’t wait around to get into discussion on their suggested short interval of 6 weeks.

Many thanks

They are correct in treating only the coarse hair. Laser won’t work on fine hair and can actually make it worse.

I’m surprised you’re having a difficult time finding a clinic to treat this area. It’s a very common area to treat and I don’t know of any clinics who don’t do it on females.

I wouldn’t argue with them over intervals. Just schedule appts when you feel they’re necessary. You don’t need to give them a reason.
