Indications of well-done electrolysis?

Hello electrolysis experts!

I have been receiving treatments for 4 months now, from the same clinic. Once or twice I have had a different electrologist, but all at the clinic (which is devoted to electrolysis) are very competent, using modern equipment, have good hygiene, etc. …

The electrologist I usually have my appointments with (once every 2 weeks, facial hair, beard area) seems to be “noisier” than the other. It’s almost as if I can hear the hair sizzling at one point? Also, I seem to feel the insertion of the filament a bit more.

Both seem to do a good job of getting all the hair removed in more or less the same time. Neither is more painful than the other. I seem to have just slightly less reaction afterward with the “quieter” electrologist, and I’m wondering if this is something I should pay attention to? Is noise/insertion feeling an indication of something being done wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Normally you should not notice the needle insertion.
Before starting your treatment, did you use to wax/pluck your hair, or not ?

other thing, when the practionner removes the hair, do you feel any traction ?

Sometimes I do notice the needle insertion, but it does not feel like a needle prick (and never hurts).

I used to do laser treatments, and shave. I waxed very infrequently perhaps 10 years ago.

When the hair is removed I do not feel any traction.

Not one Electrologist is exactly like the other. Are they keeping a chart with the settings that are used? This is especially important if you have more than one electrologist working on you.

Sometimes insulated probes can cause sizzling sorts of sounds if insertions are too shallow. It may also be that the incorrect probe size is being used.

In general, you are right to question this sizzling sound as this isn’t usually part of a proper session and could be a sign of over treatment. I can’t stress this enough but talk to the Electrologist!!! Tell them the differences you’re noticing and ask about any concerns you have.
