I'm not a canidate?

Hi everyone,

I began the long process of having my facial hair removed this past July. If you’re at all curious as to why: it’s because I hate shaving my face every day, or twice a day if I go out at night since my facial hair caliper is dense and dark as well.

I was undergoing thermolysis with a woman who lived close to me, but she abruptly retired due to an illness per her doctors orders.

In attempting to pick up where I left off with another electrologist, I found somone else who was close by and has been licensed since 1970. While she did agree to finish up my monobrow hairs, she refused to treat my face do to, and these are her words, “shaving after having electrolysis treatments will prevent the treatment from working and it will have no effect.”

Basically she told me I’m not a canidate unless I don’t shave my face between treatments, though, she did say that I could try laser.

I feel kind of dejected because, while I know it’s a long road, I really did want to invest the time and have my facial hair removed.

That person doesn’t know what they are talking about. Shaving has no effect on hair growth at all. Laser on the face is a horrible idea and will lead to more hair growth. I suggest finding another electrologist as quickly as possible.

Wow, okay. Thanks for the reply.

Why is it so hard to find a reputable electrologist?

I don’t think there’s anyone else within 100 miles of me :frowning:

ditto, shaving has no effect on the hair follicle. Sounds like you would be better off elsewhere.

Where abouts are you? Perhaps there are recommendations available depending on where you’re located

I’m in North Eastern Pennsylvania. I’ve called everyone.

Ready to give up on this as I don’t feel like traveling for 2 hours (well 4 there and back) every week.

I know it can be hard . I had a client today who drove from Virginia - 8 hours one way. For you, are you relatively close to the Cleveland area?

Check this list to see if you can find someone near you: http://www.lauras-playground.com/electrologists

This list has been pretty solid from my experience
