I'm looking for a miracle

I really want to clear a lot of areas on my body, however, I cannot seem to find anyone in Toronto to do so. Everywhere I call either says 2 hours maximum they don’t recommend more. Well if I want to clear like 2-4 areas, this will take YEARS at 2 hours a week!!

If for example I want to do a female back (I’m aiming for this first, because I’m disgusted with my back hair) It is dark!! and fine, but not baby soft fine, I can feel it which means anyone can feel it.

Can I ask you electrologists if you’ve ever cleared a back before (ie. female) and if so has it been successful, I’m talking full back!

I know I’m hairy =( It’s such a curse =( I wish I could clear it all!

Some electrologists have this silly policy. I used to think it was because they can’t handle marathon sessions themselves (it’s a lot of work), but then they move on to the next client immediately anyway! It can’t be for those reasons because it’s still just as much work for them whether it’s 2 hours on two clients or 4 hours on one. In fact, it’s less work on one client because you don’t have to stop and re-sanitize everything!

I can’t figure it out, myself. I’m sorry you’re having trouble with this. :frowning:

You could select 2 or more electrologists and see them each for two hours per week. I am currently doing something like that. It is a bit of a hassle but it beats a two hour/week limit. Or if you book far enough in advance you could probably block off two hours per day for a week with your electrologist.

If you are willing to travel out of province you will probably find an electrologist willing to do a marathon session. A few electrologists on this site seem to offer these sessions.

I currently found someone who will perform 4 hours a week, which makes me very happy! I’m going in for a consultation next week.

I have a question for everyone, I’ve been doing laser on my upper lip, and just this morning noticed after a number of treatments done that I have this white circle :s it’s soooo ugly!! I can’t cover it up!!! It’s not noticeably white, but when I stare at it I see it :’( great just another thing to add to my list of imperfections :’( Could this be because of the laser treatements? But why would it just create a small circle? I first noticed something odd in this area when the cirlce was just dry skin, and it was just this circle on my upper lip :s I thought it was weird but then i kept putting cream and it seemed to help, I haven’t noticed it for a while. Then this morning I wake up and here is this white circle!!! ughhhh, what is it?!?!

Does anyone have any insight??

It’s really impossible to tell without pictures. We can only speculate. It could have been there under the hair, it can be pigmentation from laser, etc.

Hi folks,
It is rare for most electrologists to book several hour appointments for new clients because we do not yet know if they are reliable or responsible and the new client may not even show up. It can kill our business and prevents us from booking clients who wanted that time. Once we see that the client is responsible and reliable, most of us will then schedule accordingly. There, mystery solved.

I had a no call-no show just today. The guy had come for a sample treatment and consultation, scheduled the full treatment for today, and left me hanging.

The lousy thing is I have a client from Spain who would have LOVED to have had today had I not had it set aside for someone who somehow never made it.

Some advice James (as if you need it!), do not be in a rush to re-book this guy again.

As I am currently booked into August, that is not an issue.

One of the electrolysis places near me recommends 10 minute sessions :S

i know what you mean! I couldnt find anyone close to me that would work for longer then 30 min, so im travelling over an hour to see someone who does! its annoying but i guess it’ll be worth it. I also need to get my back done and stomach, but do you rekon it would be better to thin it out? instead of fullying clearing the back coz of all the baby hairs on the body ( well my body haha)

Try to get a full clearance of dark hairs visible from four feet away. We have had a poster or two here complain about how they never got to First Clearance, when it turned out that that person was defining First Clearance as removing all hairs in the treatment area, including the blond and clear vellus hairs. That is neither practical nor desirable.

Having said that, it is not easy to find someone to do that type of work. Most electrolysis providers have been taught to selectively thin the hairs out until a desirable level of clearance has been reached. That process is a little slower than most would like.

Hi:

I showed up at my electrologists office the other day and she had a no show just prior to my appointment. I know if the person was booked for a full day as in James case she would have been in a similar predicament, and it would have been hard to swallow that kind of time and financial loss.

I am a firm believer in persistance paying off in the long run.

I booked 2 hour sessions every week at first and then every other week until I was finished.

Besides the problem of no-shows, it takes a special electrologist to work a full day on one patient since it can be meticulous work that takes steady nerves, concentration and patience.
