I'm being cheated by my Laser hair removal Technit

I have purchase 6 treatments from my tech who also owns the buisness. She is very well expereinced and a powerful person in the laser hair removal world, at least in my state. From the very first treatment I suspected that she was missing huge areas. She never overlapped the fields (machine is a gentlelase) and when really fast. After my first shed I saw rows of bald perfect circles approx…18 mm surrounded by my regular hair growth. I cofronted her about this and she would pluck the growings hair…which I felt and had strong resistance, and would say its been treated and is dead and that the hair is still shedding ( this being after 6 weeks). She said my skin is just dry and holding onto the hair and that the hair is deep (inches deep) and is still shedding.

I am getting my upper lip, sideburns, chin, forearms, sternum, linea negra, full legs and a brazlian done. It only takes an average of 30 mins.

I have gone to other techs( some with the exact same machine) and they have all confirmed that she is missing huge areas and should be taking 2 to 2.5 hours.
What should I do? She already has my money…almost $7000!

Lagirl and Choice will guide you, BKP, on the technical aspects of your laser experience, but the fact is, if you don’t have coarse, dense, dark hair in all these places, you may be very disappointed in the end. You will need a speedy electrologist to satisfy your needs long run.

Hair removal / reduction is a very emotional experience. I don’t know about others, but when I pony-up for $7,000 for anything, I have to earn $14,000 before taxes to be able to pay that $7,000! Anyone offering a service that costs that much better damn well take care of the client by performing well.

If you are not happy, ask for a refund. If you get nowhere with this, then I would make sure that whoever referred you to this laser specialist knows about your complaints.

Hopefully, LAgirl and Choic can weigh in and offer some help.

Sorry this happened to you, but maybe there is a chance you can still work this out. Did you have just one treatment so far? You should shed in 1.5-3 weeks after a treatment. Sometimes, hair gets stuck in the follicle and are referred to as pepper spots. They get burned out in the next treatment.

Dee, I actually talk to you on the phone a couple of weeks ago. I went to the person you recommened, and she confirmed that the tech is missing huge areas of treatment. Unfortunally I have had 5 tx on most areas. It has been recommened to get a refund as the tech has been blantanly lying to me to keep me coming in. My hair is very corse and dark and I have very light skin. I have been told that I am the perfect candate and I should have had much better results by now. All the small areas such as face are mostly hair free now. It is very obvious were her target laser hit and did not hit. Also, I’ve had the tech with the same laser show me a test square, she does it much differenly ( she does it exactly as the manufacture candela recommends). I can see why my tech misses so much. she probably only averages 6 hits per row on my forearm and does not map out any areas…even the large ones.

Oh, yes! I do remember your call and those other details now. You called me when I was on my way to Chicago. Well, have you talked to the first laser tech that you are unhappy with about this confirmation from the second laser specialist that areas need to overlap? Maybe she would give you a partial refund or more treatments without cost.

Just for a guide my technision takes an hour to do legs and bikini! So think your defo being taken for a ride there.

Yes I am going to talk to her tomorrow. I no longer feel comfortable with her giving me anymore treatments since she is doing such an extremely poor job on purpose. She knows exactly what she is doing. I just wish I hadn’t let her talk me into continuing from the first treatment when I suspected it was not being done correctly.

Maybe she will resolve this in a way you are not expecting. Stay cool.

30 mins for all that? Just full legs alone should take a MINIMUM of 1 hour, usually more. I really never recommend for anyone to fork that kind of money. $7000 seems very expensive for those areas, considering how many you’re doing at once. It should be much cheaper.

Either way, as you may have learned from the forum, whatever doesn’t shed within 3 weeks after the treatment was missed. This is when people go in for touchups. Many clinics offer this service for free.

I don’t know if I would assume that she knows she’s taking you for a ride here. She’s likely just inexperienced. Either way, see what her reaction is, but I would really take my money and run somewhere else. For that money, you should be getting impeccable treatments.

If you’re going to look for another place, PLEASE don’t pay for anything up front and only start with one or two small areas first.

Do you know how much electrolysis you could buy with a $7,000 up front payment?

Oh, yeah, this is no place to talk about that math.
