I recieved word today from Teresa Petricca at the American Electrology Association that they have successfully lobbied to get electrology regulated in the state of Illinois. This is great news for consumers, and I think it brings the total to 35 states which regulate the practice of electrology.
Regulation requires that electrologists have a minimum amount of training and credentials in order to get a license to practice, which helps consumers get safer and more effective results, and allows consumers redress if they have problems with an electrologist.
Since Illinois is my home state, I am especially pleased to see we’re joining the growing group of states that understand the need to regulate electrolysis!
