If I don’t shave an area for 4 + months and have an electrologists clear the area in 1-2 appointments how long should it be till I see hair growing back? I am looking to test out a new electrologists and wondering if this is a good way to test her out. If I see re growth in a few weeks does this mean she didn’t effectively kill the hair? Is there a better way to tell if the treatment is effective?
Yes, it is a good way. It’s not so much how quickly you start seeing the regrowth but rather the amount of regrowth after a given time period.
Take a photo of the area before treatments. Compare this photo to the area 3 months after treatment - the hairs will be a combination of follicles the electrologist couldn’t treat because there were no hairs present/visible at the time of treatment, and regrowth from treated follicles. In the ideal/perfect sceanario, there wouldn’t be any of the latter.
So being realistic, you will need to assess if the reduction after 3 months is worth your time and money.
Of course it depends from person to person, but I also believe that it depends on the area being treated as well. I’m having my upper lip and chin treated, and I’ve noticed that I see new chins hairs about twice as fast as I see new upper lip hairs.
