I’m in Washington state “no school no requirements”.
I have been asking for help in training for several months now with no luck. I’m willing to do just about anything to become an Electrologist(except move from my state)Is there anyone out there that could even spend just one day teaching a new dog some tricks?
Anyone want to be my practice model?
I’ve been going to Electrolysis on and off for years so I know what it feels like etc…
I have 3 machines that I have been trying out on my legs. So far so good I’m just slow!!!
Thanks again for hearing my moans…
You probably can’t be helped unless you are at least willing to visit another state… and while you mull that over, put your city and state in the location section of your profile. It helps us to help you.
I’m more than willing to visit another state. I just can’t pack up and move for several months at a time. I have 2 small children and a hubby to boot.I live in Washington State in the good ole city of Tacoma not far from Seattle. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
hello! i have been searching for someone just like you!!!
i am a college student and therefore do not have much money, but have been dying to do electrolosis on my back. it is very embarassing to have back hair. i live in oregon, portland in the summer and ashland during the school year. if you want to practice on someone, i would be more than willing to set up an appointment.

Nanci - It’s wonderful that you want to become an electrologist. It is unfortunate that your state does not have any requirements for training.
You MUST get proper training before going into public practice. One day or even a few weekends does not cover the basics for learning this profession.
Asking for training from other electrologists in your area will probably result in several things happening: If they did not have the proper education, they will pass on to you their poor skills, habits and inadequate knowledge. They might also begin avoiding giving you treatment, because they might think that you are there to learn “how to”.
The worst thing that has happened in this profession is the fact that there are too many poorly trained electrologists out there. These poorly trained electrologists make up cool sounding school names and design fancy certificates that make them appear to have received good training. These poorly trained electrologists use inadequate lighting and magnification, and have poor insertion and current application skills when providing treatment, so their clients end up with skin damage and ineffective hair removal treatments. These poorly trained electrologists give the whole profession a bad name. They are the electrologists whose clients tell their friends and doctors about how horrible their electrology experience was, so those friends and doctors then tell everyone they know that electrology/electrolysis is a treatment to stay away from.
So, please if you do choose this profession, I respectfully request that you do everything you can do get a good education, and to get continuing education after the fact.
Wishing you the best!
I just ordered some new equiptment that should be here shortly. Actual electrolysis time would 15 min - 1 hour.Do you have a friend that lives near the WA. boarder. I’d meet ya half way.
nanci
portland is very close to the border of washington, would you meet me there?
Yes.
Give me a week for my stylus to get here and we will make a plan!
Don’t worry I will get trainning. That is why I’m asking for help on hairtell. I’ve had electrolysis treatments on and off for 17 years and I have had many of my own nightmare stories to tell. I don’t want others to have the same proublems that I have.
Thanks for your input I wish more people were like your self.
okay, well now christmas break is over and i am back in Ashland for schooling… sometime i go to eugene for the weekends, is there any chance you would go to eugene? or if we did schedual a portland trip, how many hours would you want to work on me? becuase the drive from ashland to portland is 5 hours…so yeah? haha. any chance your traveling to ashland or down this direction for any reason?
I bet Tom would not believe that I usually drive 6, 8, 10 hours or more when I go get treatments. Of course, that’s just because I don’t live close to anyone I trust enough to hand my face over to.
