I think i'm being lied to: Epilight = Alex?

Hi, so I was browsing Groupon for any deals on laser hair removal. As expected, most turned out to be IPL.
But one caught my eye because it said that the clinic used an Alexandrite laser, I looked on the website, and there too it said they used an Alexandrite. Hastily, I bought a voucher and thought nothing of it until my appointment today.

I was bracing myself for the familiar stinging pain of it once i got on the table, but soon realised that the technician had already starting working on me, and that odd warm feeling was the “laser” working. I caught a glimpse of her working, and she was holding this odd wand an inch or two from my skin and just shining it around, there was no laser coming out. I’d never seen anything like it before.
I thought to myself “shit. they tricked me and i bought an IPL voucher!”

So afterwards I asked what kind of machine it was, she insisted that it was an Epilight Alexandrite laser, not an IPL machine.
I’m searching online for an Epilight Alexandrite laser, and i’m not finding anything. The only results I see are for an Epilight IPL machine! ugh. fuck. did i just waste 400$ should i just go back to a place that does laser, or should i continue with IPL? I’d already done 2 treatments on the area with a Lightsheer diode…

Ask them the manufacturer name.

I honestly don’t know why people continue to buy Groupons.
When treated by good lasers, there is a cost to each pulse that is used. That means, even if they claim in Groupon to be using a good laser, they could still under treat you to save money so they don’t lose money on the deal.
I’m pretty sure that most places that use good lasers, if you tell them you can get treated from Groupon for X amount, they will probably be able to give you a better deal which isn’t too far away from the Groupon price.
I can guarantee you, selling for Groupon prices while sharing money with Groupon results it huge losses, either they are naive in thinking that people will come back and pay full price (doesn’t happen in 98% of the time) or they bring you in knowing they have to save money on you to break even.
