I started my arms

Hey all…well i’ve been doing work on my face for over a year now and last saturday i started my arms. i got 15 min done on each arm (im only working on the lower arm region for now) and thank god i only did it for that period of time. IT HURT much more than the face. my arm was shaking in the middle of it haha. but one thing is for sure…sometiems i feel a bit of a tugging hair on my cheeks…but the arm hairs were sliding out with such ease. i had shaved them 3 days prior…i shouldve shaved them a week prior because the hair didnt grow too long by the time of my appointment. the right arm reacted worse than the left…there were welts in it and the area looked very swollen and bumpy. let me stress though…this was ALL worth it. theres nothing better than seeing those stupid hairs that have always bothered u so much seeing them zapped and killed and pulled out…i hate them and i am glad to see them gone! so i think in 2 weeks im gonna go back and have an hour done to each arm…i know thats alot but i want my first clearance very soon.

It could be that your electrologist hasn’t quite got the angle perfect when doing your other arm, but it could just be that each arm is reacting in a different way. When I’m clearing upper arms there is always more on one side than the other, and it doesn’t seem to make a difference if the person is right-handed or not. Plus if one arm gets more sun exposure fron leaning out the car window on a sunny day then that can have a (small) effect too after treatment.

that’s very true i didn’t even think about that…thanks! i am trying to cover up my arms as much as i can after the treatments to avoid the sun, i mean it’s cold now so i have no choice anyway.

an update: this is now 5 days after my treatment and the scabs are much more prominent than the ones on my face…which makes sense…i’m guessing she uses a lower setting for my face. i apply witch hazel to the area once a day and am washing my arms with aveeno’s oatmeal facial soap. maybe i am not doing enough for the aftercare? but i am not worried, i know the scabs will eventually go away. i booked an hour on each arm for after thanksgiving. ill update once i do that appointment!

Why don’t you try some aloe vera gel for 2 or 3 days after a treatment? Keep it in the fridge and massage it into the treated area a couple times a day. Get the clear stuff that is “100%”, so labeled.

Hi! Sorry Dfahey…i haven’t checked this forum in a while since i haven’t been doing electrolysis in a while…so yeah next time i get work done on my arms i will definitley be better with the after care.

UPDATE: i was very lazy with the after care and so it took 3 weeks for my scabs to fully fall off. i will get an hour on each lower arm done on saturday and am expecting arms full of scabs for a while. thank god it’s cold soi can cover it up. ill also do much better with the aftercare. i’ll let u guys know how it goes!
