I need opinions on hair removal, only if you've tried it.

This is my first time here and I’ve spent hours reading but I’ve noticed that a lot of people that post messages here are professionals on hair removal, if you are one of those, please DO NOT reply. I would like to know the experiences from real people who have actually EXPERIENCED “PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL”, to be exact: laser, electrolysis and home electrolysis devices. I’m trying to choose between them and ONLY if you’ve been through that (the whole process, NOT in the middle of it), I would like to know:

  1. Are you satisfied with the results? Give me a percentage on how much hair do you think was permanently removed? (I know there is no 100% permanent removal)
  2. How much did it cost you and in what areas were you treated? Did you end paying more than they said they’d charge you?
  3. How long did it take for the whole process, how many treatments did you needed?
  4. If you tried laser, which one?
  5. What’s your skin color and type of hair?

I would appreciate honest oppinions. Thanx

Ive been using the Babyliss home electrolysis sensor 8642U and am very pleased with the results. After just over 8 weeks using twice per week my top lip is clear and I am 50% clear on legs, bikini and underarms is about 30% clear. It has patches and and is rechargeable. Sensor costs about £30 - £40 in the Uk.

pinksarah,

Unfortunately those patch devices will not produce permanent results. Users will normally see absolutely no results, not even temporary. Thus, I can’t even believe your statements as it sounds more like your pushing this scam product rather than giving useful advice.

It is obvious that this poster is a corporate schill, and I think most readers here will see that for what it is.

whats corporate schill? Im a housewife with 3 kids who wouldnt be able to afford pro electrolysis

Am I suspicious of a person coming on here giving a product endorsement for a product in our shame file, who not only lists the specific model number, as if to distinguish it from past products with the same name, but posts 5 times in 24 hours saying the same thing in more than one place on the board? Um, yes I am.

So if you want to prove that you are just a housewife who has been mislead by slick marketing, you keep posting and somewhere around the 3rd month, you will find out what everyone else who attempts to perform “transdermal electrolysis” realizes; that it is just plucking where the current has loosened the hairs, making epilation easier, but no permanent removal is taking place.

Anyone want to check it out can go to http://www.hairfacts.com/scams.html and do a little reading and save themselves some money and time.

I have little patience for this stuff.

it gave the f****** model number on the instruction book you twat. Dnt worry i wont come on here again with people like you here

It’s probably best that you not return here. No one will miss your potty mouth. I wish you better self-control when communicating with your precious children.

How dare you. Yeah I wont come on here again. Why bother when theres rude idiots. Dont mention my kids you american twat.

James is an experienced and knowledgable professional. His discourse is always well-written and informative. If you actually read some the board before opening your mouth, you’d know that. Jam your kids back down into that hollow skull of yours and stop misleading people. We won’t miss you.

American Twat

My, my, things are hot in here. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Now I am not saying that it is out of the question that someone not working for the company might give all that good information, so as one could find exactly the product one was speaking of, however, let’s be real here. Are people in the UK less lazy and inattentive to detail than Americans?

Wouldn’t the average real person have just refered to the product as “The Babyliss” and left it at that?

Of course, the marketer gets some of what they want in this thread, as they get to make it look like perhaps WE are the unreasonable ones.

Of course, one does notice that “she” did not have anything to say about my 3 months to prove that the product did nothing comment. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I wonder … does “she” kiss “her” “kids” with that mouth? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Next time I play Scrabble with my mother-in-law, I hope I can make the word ‘twat’. That should get me at least 20 points. I wasn’t sure what it meant until I pulled the dictionary… I just hope she doesn’t challenge me or she’ll be looking it up… and then… I’ll just say I heard it on hairtell <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Twat = CUNARD
Au Francaise <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I don’t think the Cunard Cruise line exec’s, with their famous ocean liners, like the Queen Mary 2, would relish those equal signs, dear James. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Leave my kids out of it.

any one who bad mouths my kids are nasty, selfish and horrible people.

Actually, I feel compassion for you (and your kids), pinks. I sincerely wish you peace and contentment in all you do.

What you are using to remove hair is a scam IF you were promised permanent hair removal. It is an expensive scam even if you were promised temporary hair removal. You have wasted your money. It doesn’t work. Because you don’t like the information and advice being given, this important subject has been smeared and is off subject.

For those of you left wondering in the audience about the intensity of this degraded discussion, here is a snap shot of this product. This is why electrologists or any one who trys to look out for the hair removal consumer, gets angry. Here is the product:

http://www.prohaircare.co.uk/shop/Babyliss-Hair_Removal-8642U-92.php

Now, please read about the product:

http://www.hairfacts.com/methods/transdermal.html

Anyone who can use a computer can find out what they are spending their money on and what the chances are that they are going to get the results promised or implied.

Dee

Thanks Dee. I was just expressing an opinion. Just upsets me when people make comemnts like stuff your kids down your skull. Will visit this site but keep my opinions to myself. I really am just a mum who tired a product and thats all. Cheers

Well, well, well… I had no idea that my question it was going to cause chaos in this forum.

For all of you who have participated, thank you. I have to admit it, it was not only instructive but entertaining.

And believe me guys when I say, that I perform an extra-research when someone I don’t know recommends me a product, it pays to be extra-careful. Nobody should take this personally.

Thanks for everyone’s opinions.

Hi athina - i’m new here! wow, look what your question started! lol - have you decided what u r going to do? i use an epilator for under arms and legs and find this wonderful but can’t handle the pain for more “feminine” areas and can’t bear the thought of waxing again at the salon and screaming each time it is pulled! ouch! i was hoping one of the home personal units would work but a lot of people here, and articles are pointing that they don’t work <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> have you made a decision?
