I need an advice for hairs around nipples

I had vellus hairs around my nipples and started to pluck them a few years ago. Gradually, all vellus hairs there turned into terminal hairs (black and very coarse) and now I have about 70-80 hairs around each of my areolas:( I also have vellus hairs starting from the area between my breasts down to the pubic area. I hope to receive your advice on how often I should visit the studio for best results regarding both areas. They use Apilus Platinum at that studio. Thank you very much in advance!

Eight visible hairs are most likely not all of the hairs you have. Those are just evident now. More hairs will cycle in and several electrology visits will be required as new hairs cycle in.

Visit the electrology office for a consultation.
Based on your situation, they can come up with a treatment plan.
It is ideal to work long enough to get to a first full clearance but that may not be practical for everyone.

Based on being conveniently located, your time and budget, you can visit weekly or monthly or …

The problem is that the studio is not conveniently located so I want to visit it as rarely as possible and have good results at the same time. And the hairs are eighty, not eight…

How long did you let the hair grow?

(sorry for the stupid english, i’m italian  )

Even if you get a clean up every 3 months or so, you should still see an 80% reduction in 12 months with decent practitioner.

2 months. I think it is enough, isn’t it?

It is more than enough.

Arlene already proposed to have a full clearance followed by a pause of 2-3 months. AFAIK the best efficieny is reached the the hair has enough time to settle down in its next steady state after a full clearance. That’s usually something of the order of 2-3 months.

The other advantage of such a strategy is that it saves cost and time for travelling.

And please believe me: if our clients see 80 hairs most practitioners will usually detect at least twice as much in a state which allows their epilation…

If You are developing a male hair growth pattern You might want to check Your hormonal status. What we cannot achieve ist treatment of hair follicles that will wake up some time in the future due to hormonal changes; we can only treat hairs which are already participating in the growth cycle at the time of treatment.

best,

Beate

Hi Mirela,

I had/have a similar thing. I don’t know if it was hormonal, because I had my androgen levels checked and they were “normal”, but apparently even if you have a hormonal problem and it goes away, once the hair is there it won’t go away by itself. This is what my electrologist told me. I plucked and waxed for years so I never saw how much hair there actually was. I estimated about 100 hairs on each side but it turns out it was more like 400 on each side. I’ve been having electrolysis for about 3 months now and I go often, every 1-2 weeks usually. I prefer to do this because it means I don’t have to see all the hairs growing out, as they just make me feel sick. I think that if I went for 2-3 months without treatment, I would go back to how I was at the beginning and I just can’t do that. I’m seeing good results but I’m a long way from being done.

Hope this helps.

Going every two to three months is fine, but so is going more frequently, especially if you cant stand to see the hair. Both strategies work. It is all about personal preference. So glad to hear that you are seeing progress.

Personal preference is the main consideration here. I typically advise my clients to have a clearance at least every 3 months. If they are extremely hair intolerant, they can choose to have more frequent visits.

Hi Mirela,
Good luck with beginning your journey! As your electrologist will advise you, it is most important to cease tweezing the hairs from now on so if you want to visit every 2 to 3 months sometimes the hardest thing can be to avoid plucking the occasional coarse hair. Some clients find trimming or shaving in between treatments helps them to get by until their next visit, this is personal preference as well. I am sure your electrologist will help you to devise a plan that is most suitable to your needs.
