I just need clarification and answers

Hi "Emancipated’ … my new most excellent friend!

Good try … it’s not going to work … consider the following sentences taken from the poster’s last post (today):

"I just don’t know what to think or do anymore. I have such conflicting information on this thread … I am still confused. So her method isn’t correct? Why would she be doing it wrong after all these years? I just don’t understand how someone can do it wrong after so long? I just want more clarification with this.’

The bottom line is this: The poster says that (he or she) has a BEARD! I know what a "beard’ is, and a beard takes about 100 hours of treatment (not 7 or 8 hours). Then again, some people think that a "beard’ is a few hairs on their chin or upper lip.

LANGUAGE is very limited, and always subject to gross misinterpretation. People often get upset at comments when the meaning was not at all what was intended. Add in that we have a lot of non-English speaking people here and therefore misunderstanding is added to the mix.

Here is what I suggest the poster do. Send your electrologist a link to THIS THREAD! Let her read it and let her answer all your questions and relate to what has been said here. I think she has a “right” to this information.

Why are you keeping all this a SECRET from your own electrologist? (Makes no sense to me.)

Let her have a “go” at it and let her give you the answers you want. After all, she is THE ONLY ONE looking at your “beard” and she has 30-years of experience.

Just do it!

Thanks so much for your reply. I really appreciate your thoughts and feedback.

I’m confused mainly because is my progress normal or not? Some people say oh your electrolysis doesn’t sound right. Finer and finer isn’t what is correct. Each week the same areas shouldn’t be recleaned every week. Then others say I have a long road and electrolysis is a process and you have to be patient. Well, I just don’t want to be sitting here a year from now with barely any results after all this money and time spent. That’s why I an so concerned. I just want my facial hair gone and it’s hard to judge what electrolysis is supposed to be like when it’s correctly done.

I think it would be odd to ask her to do a patch test after months of going to her. I also doubt I would see any results after one treatment.

Thanks again for your help!!

I’m sorry I don’t have photos right now. I have coarse black/dark brown hair from sideburn to sideburn. I have alot on my jawline and neck. I probably have a couple hundred hairs. I have some medium to fine hair on my chin. She has been working on the sides of my chin and outward to my jawline.
I guess there’s some reduction, but probably because she recleans these spots each week.
Thanks for your help, sorry I have been such a pest it’s just electrolysis is expensive and hurts, so after all this time I was expecting these areas to be cleared for longer than a week.

I just don’t want to waste time.

She told me last week my hair is coming back finer and these areas are easier and faster to re clean. She doesn’t like to be questioned. She has been doing this for 30 years and just tells me to trust her, I will love the results.

She said I have a bad case and a long way to go.

I really want to thank all of you for your advice and help. I have learned alot through all of your replies and really appreciate all of your time and feedback.

I love this forum because it really helps me understand electrolysis better. I just want reassurance there are no huge red flags.

I just read about people online who have spent years and thousands of dollars and have barely any results and I just don’t want that to happen to me.

I guess what I have learned is electrolysis does take awhile. It’s a process and if you have a bad case it takes years to complete.

A half an hour a week isn’t really enough time, but I will get there eventually.

You shouldn’t feel any resistance or plucking during treatment, however don’t stress if there is a tug or two occasionally.

It’s okay if there is regrowth every week, because hair grows in phases and each hair isn’t present during treatment. I may not realize how much hair I had to be begin with.

In the end I just have to trust my electrologist and not analyze each hair every day and worry about my progress every week.

Hopefully it will work out with this electrologist because of all the money and time I’ve invested in her.
She’s also the only one that returned my call, good price, location and has flexible hours.

She really makes me comfortable at my treatments because she’s a great person.

I’m not saying she isn’t good at what she does, I know I have a challenging case, but I just hope one day this will just be a memory and I won’t have all this facial hair to deal with anymore.

Thanks again for all your help!!

Was anything I said incorrect?

Good post and good for you; you “got it.”

Go thee forth into the world of “no hair,” and “may the forceps be with you!”

Thanks Michael for your help, feedback and advice!

Smoooooch!

I think you’re going to be just FINE!

Gosh…Really?

You’re going to be fine GH. When you first start you tend to overthink it but as time goes on and you see the progress you’ll be able to relax a little more about it as well.

I feel you could benefit from reading a textbook , about electrology. I think it might help you understand the process better.

Seana

Thanks Michael and Seana! I really appreciate the support and feedback!
It’s so great to read other electrologist’s advice, insight and feedback.

Thanks so much, I just can’t wait to be hairfree.
